Alex Preece, Tillo COO, shares his thoughts on why 2021 needs to be the year we re-think retail and why sustainability, digital incentives and multi-retailer approaches need to take centre stage.
Last summer, and in the midst of the pandemic, Tillo began working with and supporting our now chosen charity, Chomp, as their incredible team worked to support the families most in need in and around Brighton and Hove. Chomp’s mission is clear:
“Passionate about supporting families and with children who find themselves in challenging circumstances. The team provide integrative support that spans across immediate needs such as food poverty, and holiday hunger to meaningful engagement across interdependent communities.”
In the six months from when lockdown began Chomp delivered a staggering 1227 food boxes to a total of 194 families including 441 children. The team’s work is crucial in ensuring that nearly 200 of Brighton and Hove’s poorest families are supported. We were pleased to be able to lend a hand as we assembled a team of volunteers from across the business to deliver the boxes.
This week, in the lead up to Christmas, we helped deliver food parcels and Christmas gifts to over 100 families across the city at the end of what has been a particularly tough year for so many.

In addition to the deliveries this week, last week Chomp delivered 50 hampers to 16-18 year olds and shared the following thanks from one of the young recipients:
