Last Thursday we attended the GCVA Awards at the St Pancras International Renaissance Hotel in London. It was a fantastic night catching up with everyone from the industry after all these months and celebrating the achievements of the past year! It was certainly a night to remember as Tillo scooped Industry Service Provider of the Year and our Executive Chairman and Co-Founder, Gareth Gillatt, received the award for Honoured Industry Contributor. We also received highly commended for Best B2B Product or Service.
We were delighted to receive Highly Commended in this hotly contested category. The judges commented:
“This entry shows a team driven to deliver to market demands...There is no doubt that this company has shaken up the gift card market with their digital platform and services.”
In the past 18 months the team has worked tirelessly to power providers such as Edenred, Wonde and Huggg to enable these providers to meet the demands of the Free School Meals Initiative. We were over the moon to receive the award for Industry Service Provider of the Year. The judges described Tillo as:
“An amazing proposition, delivering a huge amount in the space of a year.”
The judges continued:
“Blown away by the growth - they have dealt with unprecedented demands in the past 12 months, the glue of the service provider industry. The strength is in the platform, they have demonstrated when under pressure they can deliver and be resilient. Moreover, the growth and volumes look set to continue. Many businesses claim they are built to scale but few are tested quite as strongly as this company has been over the last 12 months. However, their platform has stood up to the challenge.”
Huge congratulations to Tillo and Executive Chairman and Co-Founder, Gareth Gillatt who scooped the highly coveted Honoured Industry Contributor Award. Gareth received an outstanding number of nominations from the memberships, upon announcing Gareth as the winner of this year’s award Eoin Whyte commented:
“What has always impressed me about this years’ winner is his unwavering focus and determination to succeed, no matter what. He refused to take his focus off the road, he stayed the course and with his business partner he has built one of the most respected businesses in the industry.”

Upon receiving the award Gareth commented:
“To be recognised and honoured by my industry colleagues at the awards last week was an extremely touching moment which brought me to tears on the night. Never before have I received such overwhelming recognition, gratitude or applause and for that I’m truly thankful and humbled. I hope this award goes some way to inspiring the next cohort of business leaders to dream big and follow their dreams with the unrelenting passion it takes to make a difference.”
