It’s Joe’s 6th year anniversary at Jigsaw next month... what better way to celebrate all the hard work he has done (and continues to do) than to put him in the spotlight for our meet-the-team Q&A series?
Over the past six years at Jigsaw, Joe has worked in several different roles and teams and always brings so much energy to everything he does.
In my spare time I love going to see live music and to the theatre - I’d say I’m a very artsy person. I also write and perform monologue shows around once a year, the quality of which is debatable, but I love it! I really enjoy going to the cinema, and I am a huge fan of The Simpsons.
To be honest, the job role sounded really niche, which appealed to me. The more I learned about the company and industry, the more I thought it would be interesting to work in gift cards. I was also really interested in the different brands that Jigsaw manages.
🧑🎓 I went to university in Sussex to study Drama and Film Studies.
🥔 I worked in a kitchen in Lewes during my second year at university.
🧑💻 I did an internship in Corporate Events at a Bank.
📈 I had a brief stint in sales training.
🪵 I did furniture procurement for a stint (another niche job role!).
🧩 I joined Jigsaw and started working in the Operations team.
👉 I moved into the Partnerships team after about three months, which was much more focused on account management, something I really enjoy.
I moved industries a lot before I found Jigsaw, but now I’m lucky enough to have found a role, organisation, and industry that I really love and am passionate about. This means I work extra hard for our brands because I enjoy it.
Because we offer end-to-end gift card program management for brands, a large part of my role is working with those brands to maximise their sales. On a typical day, I’d say my main priorities are:
🤝 Reviewing and submitting new buyer opportunities to our retailers.
📈 Scoping out and scheduling promotional/marketing activities to maximise sales.
📩 Management of inbound sale enquiries via our business order site.
However, no two days are the same, and I can also be found submitting creative assets for sign-off, analysing brand sales performance after promotional events, and supporting our Client Account Managers with operational queries.
I love projects where I’ve been working closely with our clients; it’s great working with a retailer on a public campaign and seeing the finished thing at the end, I find it very satisfying. I also love collaborating with the rest of the Jigsaw team; they’re such a great group of people, and we love working together. We’re always coming up with innovative ideas to help our clients and drive the industry forward.
