Georgia has performed multiple different roles in her five years at Jigsaw, starting out as an apprentice and moving up to her current role as Senior Client Services Executive.
Georgia works hard to keep the brands she manages updated regularly, ensuring they get the most from new opportunities, and drives their gift card sales across all channels. Georgia genuinely loves working at Jigsaw and finds her job so rewarding; read on to find out why.
You can normally find me hanging out with my two cats; I spend a lot of time with my family as well. My aunt has three children who are younger than me, so I spend a lot of time with them. The youngest is ten, so we take them out to do things… a lot! Between the cats and my family, I’m kept very busy.
🤝 I’ve always been a hard worker, I started working at at Chessington Adventure Park when I was 15; my mum had a cleaning business where I worked for a while, and then I moved to Vue for a few years before I decided I wanted a career.
âś… I got an apprenticeship at Jigsaw as a Business Administrator in the Operations team.
đź’ś I loved the job so much that I decided to stop the apprenticeship and was hired for the role of Operations Executive full-time; I worked in this role for around two and a half years.
đź’Ż I was promoted into a Coordinator role in the Project team. This was a lot more full-on and intense compared to Operations, but I really enjoyed it; I did this for around two years!
🚀 I became Senior Client Services Executive earlier this year and I’m really loving being more client-facing in my role.
My role involves a lot of reporting. I could be asked to pull a report on anything; last week I was asked how many balance mergers have been done this month. We’re basically trying to see what’s doing well and what isn’t for our brands.
I also manage all the print-related tasks for Jigsaw brands who offer physical gift cards as part of their program. I make sure everything is approved when it should be so that their gift cards are printed and dispatched on time. Print is a really tricky part of the gift card process, and without the right approach, it can take weeks for brands to execute.
I also handle partner opportunities for our brands, this is where there might be a promotion on employee engagement that we want to put the brand forward for. We’re always trying to drive opportunities for the brands we work with, to give them more exposure and boost their revenue.
My role is about ensuring that the brands we work with get the most out of their gift card program, this sometimes means encouraging them to explore options out of their comfort zone. We guide them throughout this process and should any issues come up, we sort them out. Essentially, we’re the first port of call and want to make our brands feel as comfortable as possible.
I never thought I would say this, but it’s being client-facing. Having spent years working in the backend, moving to a role where I have a lot more contact with clients has been great. I really enjoy working with everyone and building strong connections with people.
I would also have to say, I really enjoy the print part of my role. I feel like I can really put my head down when there’s a lot of them and focus; I get such a good feeling when they’re all done and sent off. It’s a big sigh of relief, to be working on something so tricky, when it goes well and the cards are received by the brand.
I think people will start using gift cards more like debit cards. For example, if you go to Costa Coffee every day and load a gift card to pay, it’s a great way to budget.
Say you put £50 on a Costa gift card at the beginning of the month and that’s your spending on coffee allocated, it’s an amazing way to keep your finances organised whilst getting points for what you’re spending. This is especially good for things that are considered more like a treat, so you know you’ve got the money for it.
Because e-gift and digital gift cards are on the rise in the UK, it’s easier than ever to top up a gift card and keep it in your wallet on your phone. You can get gift cards for most things these days, so I really think this could be the future!
