Last week, I sat down with Christian Willis, Tillo’s Treasury Manager, to learn a little more about what life in Tillo’s Finance Team is really like.

Christian joined the team in March 2024, and we are so lucky to have him!

If you’re considering a role in Finance, then give this post a read to hear some of his advice, and if Tillo sounds up your street, then we’d love to hear from you; you can register your interest here and find our open roles here.

Let's jump into the Q&A. 🚀

Hey Christian 👋🏼
So, what made you want to get into a career in Finance? And how did you get into it?

I’ve got an interest in problem-solving and analytical thinking.

I got into finance through internships during my university summers, however, these were accountancy based which I did not enjoy. I believe that internships are the best way to get a taste of areas of finance you may be interested in and see if it gels well with your own personality.

What is your favourite thing about your role?

Building out a new function from scratch with the right level of autonomy whilst also feeling supported by senior leadership.

A Treasury Manager at Tillo plays a crucial role in overseeing Tillo’s financial assets, managing liquidity, and mitigating financial risks. I’m responsible for optimising the financial resources of the business, ensuring efficient cash management, and strategically navigating financial markets.

What made you want to work at Tillo?

From the outside looking in and doing research during my interviews, Tillo just looked like a fun place to work, and luckily it has not disappointed!
