On #InternationalPodcastDay, we are super excited to announce Tillo’s new Podcast series which is launching later this quarter 🎙️
The Wild Cards podcast will be hosted by Tillo CEO, Alex Preece, and will bring insights from innovators, pioneers and disruptors from a variety of scales-ups, fintechs and other high growth companies who are all changing the sectors they operate in. They will share learnings, new perspectives and personal stories of growth.
By definition, Wild Cards give power to the player holding them; they can completely redefine the game. Wild Cards are a complete unknown - until they’re in play.
As a successful entrepreneur himself, Alex knows well what it is to be a Wild Card. He started his career in the British Army, and spent 7 years jumping out of military planes before founding and later selling the UK’s first daily deal business to moneysupermarket. He went on to start Tillo in 2016, alongside co-founder Gareth Gillatt, with a vision for how to disrupt the gift card industry, using the power of digital gift cards to connect consumers to the brands they love. Today, Tillo has processed over £1 billion worth of gift cards through its innovative platform, works with over 2,000 brands, in 16 currencies, across 35 markets.
So, if you thought gift cards were just what your nan gets you for Christmas then think again… businesses and consumers are using them in new and exciting ways. You might say they’re a bit of a wild card in their own right (see what we did there)?
If you’re already an entrepreneur, business professional, or have had an innovative idea, this podcast is for you.
Make sure you keep an eye out for the Wild Cards brand and creative which will launch next month!
Alex’s first guest needs no introduction, Gail Cohen, Director General of the Gift Card & Voucher Association (GCVA), a role she has held since 2015.
In her role at the GCVA, Gail leads and manages the association, developing strategy and setting direction with the executive group, hosting the largest annual industry global conference. Gail is an experienced brand builder and marketing profession with an impressive portfolio working across the private, public and charitable sectors. Previous clients include Cartier, British Film Institute and Pearson. She is passionate about human rights and loves her family, gardening, cooking and meditating in the middle of a field.
If you don’t know too much about the gift card industry and the scale of growth within it, then you’re in for a treat with this episode as Alex and Gail chat about everything from free school meals, volunteer shopping as well as how gift cards are providing the Blueprint for the Cashless Society.
And, of course, we’ll be diving into traits that define a wild card, why Gail was a wild card when she came to the industry and who she believes are the wild cards to watch as we move into 2023.
Finally, Gail will have the chance to turn the tables on Alex as she plays her ‘wild card’ during the show. We can’t wait!
